MCT OIL

Our MCT oil is derived from coconut oil. Unlike other MCT oils derived from palm oil, at VitaTienda we only use MCT from the highest quality oleic extracts from humanely grown and processed coconuts.

Numerous studies suggest that substituting MCT (medium chain triglyceride) Oil for other fats in a healthy diet may help to support healthy weight and body composition. MCT Oils are more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats.

These days, it seems like everyone is looking for the newest and greatest way to boost their energy, maintain a healthy weight, and ignite their brainpower. It’s no surprise then that Medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) are becoming increasingly popular. The popularity of MCTs has significantly increased due to widespread information science has released regarding the benefits of nutritional ketosis or burning fat instead of carbohydrate glucose. In fact, MCT oil is becoming a leading trend among those seeking an extra “boost” to improve their body and brain wellness.

The most common reasons people use MCT are:

  • Appetite control
  • Energy Boost
  • Weight loss
  • Inflammation

Most medium-chain triglyceride oils are extracted from coconut oil, since MCTs make up more than 50% of coconut oil's fat. They are a special type of fat whose name comes from their chemical structure, or the length or chain of carbon molecules they contain.

MCTs contain medium-length chains of fats called triglycerides. Their molecules are smaller than those in most of the fats you eat. When you take a closer look at MCTs, you can see why they're better for you than their cousins with long chains. Unlike longer-chain fatty acids found in many other foods, MCTs are easier to digest due to their shorter length. This turns it into energy you can use, providing clean fuel for the body and brain. In other words, they provide your body with energy without excessively loading it up on sugar and processed foods. When chains are long, they take longer to metabolize, resulting in fat storage.

From 6 to 12 carbons, MCTs can be divided into four types:

• C6: – Easily converted to ketones, or fuel, but can cause digestive issues and tastes and smells unpleasant.

• C8: - The most ideal MCT as it converts to ketones within minutes. Caprylic acid also has no odor or flavor, so it may be easier on the digestive system. Among all MCTs, C8 is the most valuable, rarest and most expensive.

• C10: - As Capric acid is much more common than C8, it is less expensive to produce, and is less efficient in converting to ketones in the liver. Most commercial brands contain this type of MCT.

• C12: - In coconut oil, lauric acid is very abundant, but it doesn't function as a true MCT. Your liver has a harder time absorbing and breaking down C12, which acts more like a long-chain fatty acid.

Shorter-chained MCTs are generally easier to convert into ketones, which are energy molecules made from your liver fat. Ketones are ideal fuel for your cells' mitochondria, since they burn cleanly and generate a minimal amount of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that damage your cells and contribute to aging.

Furthermore, ketones are extremely helpful when fighting cravings and hunger pangs. They inhibit ghrelin, also known as the "hunger hormone", and stimulate another hormone that alerts your brain to stop eating when the stomach is full.

If you burn fat instead of carbohydrates for energy, your metabolism shifts from burning glucose to burning fat.

As a result, you may be able to:

  • Boost stamina and energy levels.
  • Perform better in sports.
  • Improve your focus and mental clarity.
  • Enhance mitochondrial function.
  • Activate your body's fat-burning ability.
  • Boost your metabolism.

Getting into nutritional ketosis involves following a ketogenic diet or one low in net carb sand high in healthy fats.

While achieving ketosis can be difficult for some, my MCT coconut oil can help you get enough healthy fats and get your body into a state of nutritional ketosis faster and longer.

How Ketone Energy Can affect Your Mental Clarity?

According to research, ketones are the most effective source of energy for your brain, especially for those most susceptible to cognitive decline.

The caprylic acid MCTs in my MCT Coconut oil go straight to your liver and bypass ordinary digestive processes, such as bile and pancreatic enzymes. The liver converts the MCT oil into ketones.

When ketones are released into your bloodstream, they're carried to your brain and throughout your body to fuel it.

The MCTs in my MCT Coconut oil have the remarkable ability to pass through your blood-brain barrier to provide energy to your brain.

Isn't fat bad for you?

These types of fats don't need to go through the normal digestive process. Instead, they're converted directly to ketones for quick energy, rather than stored in your fat cells. What great developments for those seeking ketosis, accelerating fat burning, enhancing cognitive function or simply seeking more energy.

Is coconut oil and MTC the same thing?

They are actually very different.

Although MCT oil comes from coconuts, it is not the same as coconut oil. Compared to other oils, MCT oil is much higher in medium-chain fatty acids. The amount of MCTs in coconut oil is only about 14 percent.

How MTCs affect your metabolism?

Unlike longer-chain fatty acids, MCTs are absorbed directly into your liver, where they are converted to energy or ketones. A large amount of fat is broken down in the liver to produce ketone bodies.

Ketones are different from regular fatty acids in that they can cross the blood-brain barrier. Normally, the brain uses glucose as an energy source. However, ketone bodies provide an alternative energy source. The MCT is digested more quickly than the LCT, so it is converted into energy more quickly.

Suggested Usage: Take 1 tablespoon daily. Enjoy a rich, creamy coffee by adding Real Vegan MCT Oil with any plant-based milk of your choice. Also a great addition to a protein shake. Start by taking ¼ tablespoon daily and gradually increase the amount until your body gets used to it.
